Do you suppose it is possible to walk to the end of a rainbow, to be bathed in all that light? Or is it like a mirage that you can always walk towards, but never reach?
I suppose it is the latter, much like many objects of desire.
But still, it is nice to dream about being bathed in a fine mist of rainbow light.
The scientific explanation, as I have suspected: someone can walk through your rainbow, but you can never walk through your own.

Interestingly, the explanation is quite reminiscent of the Buddhist concept of emptiness.
The idealist will like to bathe in the light, but the materialist will like to find that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. :)
