I actually think its an Austin Healey 100. I used to have a 3000, and there are a couple of detail differences to the car in the photo. The single lights on each side of the rear, rather than two above each other, the detailing around the front wing and door, and the shape of the windscreen make it look like one of the earlier 100s. I could be wrong though - its hard to tell from the shot!
This is going to sound totally nerdy now, but thinking about it I'm pretty sure its the 100 and not the 3000... The give aways are the lack of door handles, the fact that there is no convertible folding hood visible at all, and the single rear lights. Totally nerdy. I apologise!
lol, super sleuthing there, charlie! (Esp re the door handles.) I was going to send you a bigger picture, but looks like we don't need it. Indeed, I hesitated when I typed 'convertibles' in the title cos it looked like there was no folding hood. Where is your 3000 now?
looks like a 1954 austin healey roadster :)
ReplyDeleteAnother friend said Austin Healey 3000 - do you mean 1964? :)
